An Idol of Mata Vaishnodebi made of silver was recovered from under the water of BANKA river, Burdwan at times of fishing by a local person named ATUL BOIRAGYO. According to the date/year engraved at the back of the IDOL, it was created more than 500 years back. It was recovered on 4th November 2011. Since then many rich people wanted to buy the idol from Atul. Price offered by them was twenty million INR, but Atul declined to sell it, rather he himself has built one temple for the idol and offers puja everyday. Many people have donated for this religious activity.
