Majorelle Garden is not so big, and it’s not about history or religion, but it’s about taste and art.
The garden, named after French painter Jardin Majorelle(1886-1962), was the Majorelle’s residence for more than 40 years. Jardin Majorelle created the garden in bright colors and with a variety of tropical plants, especially with so many huge and high-rise cactuses.
One of the most iconic is the Majorelle Blue in the garden.
The garden fell into obsoletion after the artist’s death, but was bought and renovated by fashion master Yves Saint Laurent and his partner in 1980. When Saint Laurent died in 2008, his ashes were scattered in the garden, where he was laid to rest.
Jardin Majorelle is now a must-visit for many travelers and is one of marrakech’s most popular attractions.
A garden, buried alive by the efforts of two generations of celebrities, has resulted in the birth of a legendary attraction.
