@FazeelUsmani hosted his first virtual meet-up in April, and it was about lists on Google Maps. He shared tips on how to create feature-worthy lists and gave some good examples. If you want to learn more, feel free to read his recap.

Around the World in two hours (Recap)

17 Local Guides from several different countries joined this virtual catch-up to talk about their favorite places and most memorable trips. They traveled virtually to Cappadocia in Turkey, Argentina, Gambia, and more. You see some amazing photos in the album @AlexandreCampbell shared in his recap.

[Recap] Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Virtual Tour Virtual Meet-up

Over 70 Local Guides from around the world joined @StephenAbraham ’s meet-up to explore Kuala Lumpur virtually. He presented many popular spots and shared a Google Maps list with all of them.

In another virtual meet-up that Stephen hosted, some 40 Local Guides from India, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Singapore, and more, got together to have tea and snacks while discussing different topics.

[RECAP] VIRTUAL: Show & Tell Pet Friendly Local Guides Meet-up

In April, @KarenVChin hosted an exciting virtual meet-up for Local Guides who love pets. Participants introduced their pets and talked about pet-friendly places around the world.

Karen also hosted and shared the recaps of two more “Show and Tell” meet-ups dedicated to plants and wine.

Russian-speaking Local Guides joined this meet-up by @JaneBurunina to discuss why it is important to map accessibility, how it benefits people with disabilities, older adults, and parents with babies, and how to improve the accessibility information we share. [RECAP] Supporting Small Businesses Meet-up Virtual

{Recap} Accessible Maps With Enthusiastic Local Guides (Virtual Accessibility Meetup 2)

@KashifMisidia continued to spread awareness about the importance of wheelchair accessibility in April. During his lively meet-up, 28 Local Guides from 17 countries talked about contributions and came up with ideas on how accessibility information can be better presented on Google Maps. [Recap] - Sri Lanka Local Guides VIRTUAL - 28th March 2020

During this virtual meet-up, Local Guides from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, India, and Germany shared their experience with the program. @KatyaL Thank You for selecting one of my virtual meetups in the collection of best recaps from April 2020. I’m glad to see many virtual meetups I have participated also featured here. I personally love these virtual meetups because those brought most active local guides around the world together and to know each other even from great distances. These virtual meetups helped lot with learning new things and share ideas and knowledge. This is a good thing happened during this difficult situation. Looking forward to continue this even after everything back to normal.

We had many discussion to support small business in @LeyleyS meet up

I learnt about accessibility in @JaneBurunina ’ s meet up

Making pasta and interacting with everyone was great in @LuigiZ 's meet up

@FazeelUsmani gave some good insight on the explore tab and for you tab also shared quick tips for featured lists on maps

@KatyaL Wow… thanks for sharing all these wonderful meetups. And over the last 2 months, I was very impressed and in awe of all the incredible virtual community gatherings by so many contributors from all over the world, and we should keep it up everyone.
And soon we will be able to get access to Google Meet basic free, it would mean even more can be hosting more virtual meetups.
Keep up the incredible activities, and we make friends from all around the world even closer to one another. :blush:

It is nice to see how the Local Guides community responded to the current worldwide lockdown situation organizing and joining all kind of virtual meetups: staying together, sharing experiences, having fun.
