Bringing Local Guides together

“(Recap) Africa Virtual Meet-up 2.0”: The aim of the second Africa Virtual Meet-up was to connect Local Guides from across the continent. They talked about ways to improve the quality of their contribution on Google Maps and Connect, and more. @AlphaSays , who hosted the meet-up, summarized the topics they covered in his great recap.

“[RECAP] There will always be the first time for everything…”: @indahnuria decided to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, the end of the holy month of Ramadan, with a virtual meet-up. More than 30 Local Guides shared their stories about how they honor this special day.

Environment-related meet-ups

“[RECAP]VIRTUAL: Local Guides Clean the World Talk”: A few years ago, the Local Guides Clean the World initiative was born. Its purpose is to help the environment by reducing pollution. @KarenVChin hosted a virtual meet-up where the founder, @ErmesT , shared some insights and talked about another green project, which is close to his heart.

“RECAP: World Ocean Day: Virtual”: @Sagir is also a big supporter of making the planet a better and greener place. He hosted two meet-ups in June related to this topic, where Local Guides could virtually celebrate World Ocean Day and World Environment Day. Attendees also shared how they help nature.

Accessibility

“{Recap} Accessible Latin America - A Virtual Meet-Up”: @KashifMisidia and @JaneBurunina continued their series of virtual meet-ups dedicated to improving the quality of accessibility contributions on Google Maps. It’s amazing what you do @KarenVChin . I’ve attended your meetups and they always happen to add value and entertaining as well. I haven’t forgotten the pet meetup :). By the way, Rico was set free as he began to lose feathers. I let him off to the wild. I’m sure he’ll be happier and healthier out there than in captivity as he’d always climb the ceiling haha. A little troublesome too.
