Another great year has passed, but before wrapping it up, we want to celebrate the Local Guides who came up with some of the most amazing meet-up campaigns in 2019.
Without further ado, let’s kick off with accessibility guru @EmekaUlor , who opened the meet-up season on the second day of 2019 with an amazing campaign called Local Guides One Accessibility Project. The aim of this project is to improve the lives of people with disabilities. With a team of six equally brilliant Local Guides, this accessibility champion made Google Maps even more accessible than before.
Not long after, @Sagir stepped up and let the community know that season two of World Wide Hospital Edit Walk was beginning. Since he received a positive response from his first meet-up, he continued with the Invitation to join Worldwide Hospital Edit Season 2. Several Local Guides around the world joined him in his quest to provide useful information about hospitals and medical centers on Google Maps.
After Sagir’s meet-up, @IlankovanT made a phenomenal statement. He said that during every month of 2019, he was planning to host one of his signature meet-ups calledGoogle Maps for Rural Areas. He did this to turn youngsters living in rural areas into a digitally empowered generation by teaching them how to use Google Maps and other free Google tools available online. You can find more about his movement here.
Next in line is a campaign that started some time ago, but is still very popular among Local Guides around the world. It’s @PaulPavlinovich 's signature idea, the 36 Photo Walk Meet-Up. The campaign started back in 2016 and quickly became a huge success in the community. Paul inspired others in all areas to host and attend photo walks like his.
Last but not least, another great campaign is Clean the Worldby @ErmesT . This equally amazing and popular project united Local Guides around the world to help make the World a better and cleaner place. This movement is still as strong as it was when it was first mentioned on Connect. #LocalGuidesCleanTheWorld has followers all over the world and will likely continue spreading good for years to come.
How about you? Have you heard of any of these campaigns? Or perhaps you participated in one of them? Tell us in the comments below.
@KlaudiyaG Thanks for sharing these great campaigns. I joined/ hosted worldwide Accessibility walk, the 36 Walk and Hospital edit walk from Bangladesh. These are really awesome campaigns to reach more people and Guides for a better world.

Hello @KlaudiyaG , these campaigns were terrific. Motivated by this campaign, I also hosted a WAW in my city: (Recap) Volta Redonda Acessível

As you read above, we, Batu Local Guides, do not move alone. There are many parties involved, in the awareness of the importance of protecting the environment. There are mayors, police chiefs, artists, soldiers, and many more. Hopefully this activity will always be continue and flow in all directions. And maybe, you can join us someday.

One of my favourite campaign is Local Guides Clean The World by @ErmesT . I was very impressed with this initiative and I wanted more people in my country to learn about this project, so I translated some parts of the project in my own native Ukrainian language. Also this was the main topic with which I spoke at the The First Ukrainian Women LG Summit to convey the importance of this project.
