When I was studying in Kuala Lipis, my new friend asked me.
“Where are you from?”
“Kuala Lipis.” I answered.
“Where?” My friend looked at me with a face full of question mark on his face.
A taxi driver asked me: " Where are you from?"
“Kuala Lipis, sir.” I answered with loud and clear.
“Oh! Hometown of Dato Siti Nurhaliza!” He replied me loud and clear.
I’m confused. Is my favorite place hard to pronouns or Kuala Lipis is a no-body town?
I LOVE this place so much. So, I would like to let you know one of the uniqueness regarding Kuala Lipis.
The utilize of Historical Building
Historical buildings in Kuala Lipis normally more than 100 years. The buildings accompany more than 3 generation of people in the city. However, the citizen of Kuala Lipis are concern and take care of the buildings and utilize them with business or administrative purpose. No matter when you visit, the buildings always maintain with good condition.
The buildings not only buildings but also history of the city. It bring stories from the past and I believe it will create stories for our next generation. The utilize of the buildings, it teaches us cherish time, history and respect the people who constructed buildings such as building that serve people – Lipis Administrative building, educational purpose building – Clifford School and so on.
In additional, I would like to tell u a fun fact. In Asian country, most of the couple will take pre-wedding photos; so do couple in Kuala Lipis. Those couple actually take pre-wedding photos in those historical building and the famous spot is Lipis Administrative Building! If you are lucky, you may see one. However, younger couple won’t choose to take photos in those buildings anymore. If I have a chances, I definitely back the city and take pre-wedding photos.
