Ljubljana, Slovenia, is about 2 hours by car from my hometown Leibnitz. You can enjoy the flair of this city, the historical and the modern parts, Art Deco and also the artistic moulded area, “Metelkova”, a formerly military casern, part by part designed by young artists, poeple with engagement in coultural belongs and also with the administration of Ljubljana open the area for those different projects. The military jail at Metelkova is now used as a hostel, you rent a jail-cell as your sleeping room… I did and it was a little strange, but good to know, I can leave… see the pics and enjoy…

Thanks a lot for sharing your photos and impressions from Ljubljana, Slovenia. I’m glad you liked it and you had a great time there. I’ve also been there for 3 months while I was a student and I can confirm that it is indeed very artistic city with a lot of things you can see and enjoy. If someone is interested in street art and alternative culture in Slovenia, Metelkova street is definitely the place to go.
I also liked visiting the Ljubljana castle above the city and taking a boat tour on Ljubljanica river. Here are some of my photos from there:
