Solo Trip To Jaipur, Rajasthan, India

So here it was… My first solo trip - a trip to Jaipur. A place full of history, fine architecture, pink bricks and of course people with wonderful heart.

Well, at first the idea sounded quite scary as I was going alone but when I returned from the trip I wasn’t. I had millions of memories with me in my bag. Solo trip is like taking shower in rain. Gives you pleasure like nothing else can ever give. Everyone out there should go on a trip alone once in their life doesn’t matter if he is introvert or extrovert - it has surprise for every one of us.

Why Jaipur was on my wish list?

Jaipur is full of places one would like to enjoy alone in his life. Alright, let me share you few instances

  • Watching sunset from beautiful Jal Mahal

  • A walk with your own self to Nahargarh Fort

  • Mesmerizing moment of watching Pink city from Heights

  • Elephant ride in Amer fort

  • Drinking Chai at tapri in front of Hawa Mahal

  • Bargaining in local street markets of Jaipur

  • Wonderful art work at City palace

  • Enjoying scientific architecture at Jantar Mantar

  • Tuk tuk sawari and chit chat with locals

People here in Jaipur are so wonderful that you will feel as if you are at your grand ma’s place. eheehee! I’m not lying that’s true. They are so friendly and helpful that a single girl on trip felt so safe to travel alone whole day and catch her bus at midnight. Yes, it’s safe for girls to travel at night - I did.

Have a look at my itinerary:

I traveled from Ahmedabad to Jaipur in bus. It took almost around 13 hrs of bus journey. Roads to Jaipur are quite good.

I stayed in Hosteller there. I must say one of the best place of my stays so far. Wonderful service and food. They also schedule some activities like late night walk, movies, games etc - Had fun. Wonderful staff, I made two friends there Ishan (the manager) and Shiv. Good place to stay. In 6 bed room, I paid 600/- INR

Once I reached hostel, around at 11 AM I hired a auto to Nahargarh fort as it is quite away from Hosteller. This auto driver stayed with me whole day and took me from place to place. At the end of day he asked for 700 bucks from me and after bargaining I paid him 600/- It is much needed to bargain in all your trips.

Have a look at pics below from my visit along with place name.
