In my new workplace in Rajasthan, Tuesday is an off day. After working from Wednesday to Monday with heavy workload, in Tuesdays I roam around the whole city. I see the historical places, enjoy modern amenities and explore new cuisine in my new city JAIPUR-the Pink City, Rajasthan, India.
I was totally unknown to the city. Here Google maps has been a savior for me. Whether to check a landmark or to estimate the distance and time to reach a certain place, this solo traveler had only one friend, Google, to be specific Google maps.
Starting from Sindhi Camp Bus Station to Big Bazaar departmental store, from the wonderful design of Sanganeri Gate to the ancient accurate time telling scientific instrumental place Jantar Mantar and the main attraction of Pink City, Hawa Mahal; this solo traveler explored them all with the help of other local guides who left their contribution on Google maps.
Now it’s my turn to give back which might help some solo traveler like me, or even people traveling in group. My inputs might quench the thirst of a person sitting thousands of miles away, who would never be able to see these historical places and sculpture in his/her entire life.
In my new city Jaipur, which is a vegan city, I found a nonveg restaurant after tremendous searching and reviewed it to help other helpless non vegans like me in this vegan city.
After relocating to Jaipur, I realized the importance of our inputs to Google maps in true sense. It’s only our inputs to Google maps which in time will make Google maps itself perfect for Indian cities, suburbs and villages.
