Solar Eclipse in Bhopal Madhya pradesh India

The occurrence of a solar eclipse on the day of the summer solstice is rare indeed. The fact that it happens to be on a Sunday, the day of the ‘Sun’, makes it even more so.

Astronomers and astrologers worldwide have been marvelling at the fact that this unusual year has six eclipses, in place of the average of four. During the ancient times in India, people were discouraged to go out during an eclipse. This rule applied especially to children, pregnant women, the sick and the elderly. People, in fact, used to be warned against eating anything; and even the consumption of beverages was discouraged - with the exception of water.

With the understanding of the world that we now possess, most of us now attribute these rules and warnings to the ignorance and fears of our ancestors, when faced with a phenomenon that must have seemed surreal to them.

Still, though, our ancestors – from a spiritual standpoint, at least – had not been completely wrong; and with the advancement of spirituality in the modern world, there are many people who choose to adhere to our ancient warnings and rules regarding eclipses. For instance, some people choose not to eat during this time, and may even offer prayers and follow spiritual practices, as they regard the time of an eclipse to be a highly spiritual one - a time of ascension, even.

Today, spiritual leaders across the world (after having studied our ancient philosophies and interpreted them in the context of modern day society), encourage us to adhere to certain practices, in order to benefit from the immense celestial power available during an eclipse.

During the start of the eclipse, till it reaches its full aspect, we are encouraged to pray or meditate, to ask the universal forces to help release all the things that we do not like about ourselves - be it impatience, vanity, addictions, arrogance, bad relationships, timidity, fear, bad health, particular illnesses you may be facing and excessive materialistic desires.

Following this, during the full phase of the eclipse, we are encouraged to ask for what we want. This could include both material things (like a new job, a home, a car, money, travel, a new relationship etc.), as well as mental gifts (such as courage, consideration and harmony in our relationships). We could also ask for good health, a fit body and so on.

Even if this seems a little unusual to you, please remember - this year is an unusual year. Recall how your life has changed in the last six months…give it a go. As we follow the necessary physical protocols in this current situation, adding on some new mental protocols would not be a bad idea…

…would it?

Note 1: The solar eclipse passes through Congo, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Yemen, Oman, Saudi Arabia, India, Tibet, China and Taiwan. The ring of fire will be seen only for a minute or two at certain locations, but the effects are worldwide. Please look up the timings in your respective countries.

Note 2: Feel free to tag as many people as your can so that they may use the celestial power of the eclipse to release their issues and also ask for what changes they would like to see in their lives.

Note 3: Many LGs of India will be carrying out their Unity Walk during this time. This selfless effort towards helping small businesses is definitely going to garner a lot of good karma. God Bless.

You are right, our ancestors have been observing the anime. When we were little, we were prevented from eating and drinking during solar eclipses.

Thank you very much @NitaBC for the great post sharing with us.

Hello there @Ant_Bad_Yogi it doesn’t matter if you are unable to see the eclipse. It passes through only a small number of countries, but the effects are worldwide. So do take advantage of this celestial event. Anyone, wherever they may be in the world can follow the processes I mentioned, as we are all affected by the solar eclipse.
