The Soda & Fountain Walking tour is one that I put together for my kids when they asked me why they couldn’t come on our Wine tasting tours. We always talked about all the fun we had, so it was no wonder why they wanted to come.
Fortunately, we live in Portland, OR, well known for our quirky foods, and I discovered that there was an entire movement built around homemade sodas!
We always invited friends and expanded year after year, so that we added famous fountains in as well (you know, to help digest & process all that sugar).
one of the fun parts for my son was helping me out together the map of our tour using Google Maps. We would put in all of our destinations and then use the tools to create a great route, making sure to pass by anything fun and interesting!!
I recently did this tour and left reviews & took pictures of the places on the tour. The shops/restaurants are always interested to hear what we’re doing.
We have created a lot of lasting memories now over the years and taken a few groups on this tour…to this day, this is one of the most interesting things I’ve done as a Google Guide.
