Google Local Guides Program has had a huge influence on my life ever since I first discovered it in the spring of 2017. Over these 3 years I have been dealing with my social awkwardness, opting to go out, explore, connect and socialise instead of saying “no” or “maybe later” to all the beautiful things that the world has to offer.
As I became a member in 2017, I learned right away how hard it is sometimes to get decent feedback on some particular place, be it a city sight, a bar or a hotel. Moreover, I soon realized that even the smallest contribution to the program matters and can help someone in particular.
Contributing to Google Maps became my full-time activity as all the views and likes I get actually mean something to someone and have lots of practical value, and that’s what warms my heart, knowing that my contribution is recognized and appreciated.
In general, Local Guides Program changed my outlook on life, motivating me to go out & mingle with the crowd, explore, search for the hidden gems and embark on a journey on a daily basis
