In my previous post, I shared my experience about visiting the Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya. In this post, I would like to tell you more about the Pattaya floating market.
The Pattaya floating market is a riverside attraction showcasing the beautiful ancient Thai riverside living community and authentic ways of life. The market is divided into 4 sections and has on display the local products from 4 major regions of Thailand at affordable prices. There are over 400 shops and boat vendors inside selling local arts and crafts, authentic Thai food, desserts, fruits, art galleries, traditional Thai attire and more!
Some pointers to note if you plan to visit here –
- There is an entry fee to get inside the market, which can be bought on the spot or online.
- For a floating market experience, you could hire a rowing boat (man-powered) to get around. Typically, it is big enough for about 4 people and can be hired for a small fee.
- There are many shows and activities here such as zipline, Rowing boat, traditional Thai dance and music and more.
- Opening hours are daily from 9 AM to 8 PM.
- I highly recommend trying the tender coconut water inside the market. Coconut water in Thailand may be the sweetest you will ever try anywhere in the world.
- Food happens to be the main draw here. Expect to find a lot of authentic Thai food stalls selling noodle soups, Pad Thai, curries, fruits like durian, mangoes, desserts like Sweet sticky rice with mango, coconut pancakes etc. There are also a lot of meat and sea food stalls here.
Below are some pictures I clicked during my visit to the market. This place is worth a visit if you’re travelling with family. It gives one an authentic Thai experience for sure.

@Sheetal_RS thank you for sharing it here. I have been to the one about 1.5h away from Bangkok which I don’t remember its name but I did not really like it. Here, I found it is more interesting!

Hello
Thank you for submitting informative articles about tourism
Some of the photos that appear to be small in size are probably due to an error in LG Connect.
However, larger sizes of photos may make them look more uplifting.

Hi @TusharSuradkar ,
I wanted to let you know that I redacted your comment since sharing private groups is not allowed. We have created an open and inclusive environment here on Connect in order to make everyone feel welcome.

Thank you @Giu_DiB for redacting.
I chuckled at myself at this since not very long ago I was the biggest complainer against such private groups outside LG Connect.
As time passed, I gave up on all attempts to persuade people to participate more on LG Connect and here I stand tired and dragged into the dirty world of private groups with little realization that I am actually sharing a link and inviting others to get involved. What a shame
In private groups, I am the biggest proponent of participating more on LG Connect and at times asking to close down those private groups in favor of LG Connect: A self-imposed Catch 22 situation
Hi @Sophia_Cambodia , Thanks for sharing. The one you visited is the Bangkok floating market. Like you said, even I heard from some tourists, that it may not be so great. The Pattaya one seemed quite nice.

Hi @TusharSuradkar , thanks. I actually did upload all the images in larger size, and yet they uploaded the way it is right now. Probably it’s got to do something with the way they were clicked originally. I’m working on taking better photos.
