Recently, I wave visited one heritage asset. I was thinking to upload photos from that place on google maps. I found the place but I also found a duplicate of the place that has been put pretty close to the original one with information from the local tourist company instead of government information. I think it is ridiculous to use google maps and put your company close to the real sample of architecture and should be penalized.
If there is any moderator please remove that place.
The person who is in charge of the public relations in the municipality has asked me to correct this information but I couldn´t because my vote doesn´t have enough weight to change something. I have tried to report using the link that you have provided but there is no option to communicate directly to google maps. If I am wrong please correct me.
People are uploading photos and writing reviews there because they do not know that this place is fake. More over the information that has been put it there actually deceiving people. Which is against the google maps rules. That place has to be removed or the information has to be changed to the correct one and the category has to be changed to the heritage building.
Most if not all the 1000+ photos and the reviews should not go to waste. They seem to be related to the correct place. So merging seems the best option.
You can not as a local guide act on behalf of the Municipality. They need to claim their listing and use GMB support to get the other one merged with their listing to preserve/overtake the photos and reviews.
We should not mix the interest of a Municipality and those of being a Local Guide. I know you want to help, but I advise against using your local guides profile to help businesses including a Municipality. As you already know your trustscore is not sufficient to make the needed changes. So you can’t really help them.
I agree about merging but I think the information has to be changed as I mentioned before. I guess it is not so hard, to change the type of location, web page and phone number. I am not acting on their behalf I want the information to be represented in the correct way because for now, it is a fake location that misinforms people for covetous aims which are against google maps terms and conditions.
People get confused that’s why they are uploading photos and writing reviews. The place has to be merged and the information has to be changed there is nothing to do with a municipality it is just a logical thing covered by google maps terms and conditions or I am wrong?..
