Shiv Chawk… The oldest shopping maket of Muzaffarnagar, India. It hold so many of our childhood memories when we usually go there to buy new dresses.
At that time there were no shopping malls, so it was like one stop market for your all needs … be it shopping … eating out … Now, as we go to the town once a year, going there feels so nostalgic. But still to go there to shop for some fabric or to have the Desi street good is really a fun. we also go there for the dyeing of dupatta & other stuff. I clicked these pictures while the dyer by dyeing my dupatta. I loved the bright colors & cant stop myself for capturing that moment. Hope you all will love it too.

This is a cool image and I’m happy to know the traditional methods are still alive and being used @Farah-khan and indeed the colours are bright.
Thanks for sharing.
Note I merged the duplicate post to this one to keep Connect tidy.

I am glad that you like it.
indeed there are many old techniques which are still kept alive in the small towns atleast.
This is very interesting @Farah-khan , these traditional markets are always a unique experience.
How does it work with dying the fabric? Do you order a specific color and they just take care of it while you wait?
Thanks for appreciating it.
They will dye as per our requirements. We have to choose any specific colour & they make sure to dye it perfectly.
These people are also expert in giving different texture while dying. Really talented work.

That’s really cool @Farah-khan , I’ve never seen this being done in person and I actually thought it was a long process.
I think it’s awesome that they take pride in perfecting old crafts like this.
