Love this Street mural, it’s a shout out to the Girl Guides Organization ( not sure if every country has the girl guides), And they are helping an injured dog.
Midland is located on the southern tip of Georgian Bay which is within the Great lakes navigational system and has a large grainary and was a port for tourists, Today it’s famous for its Butter Tart festival and its street murals. Their town is full of murals and street art.
You can see my first two posts on Ontario small town Street murals here first
I have no idea on how the artist grappled with painting on these type of bricks, The Tall ships love sailing in the great lakes and the towns’ love to host them.
They were so many more murals in this town but alas the harsh Canadian winters and hot Summer months have a done a job on so many of these murals, I didn’t post all because they don’t look good( in photos) some are faded and peeling. I talked to local Business owner who saw me taking a photo and he told me there are plans to restore these murals in the next 12 months.
I also saw from a distance the Absolute largest street mural I have ever seen on the Port Grainary, Unfortunately the town closes the dock and piers in the Winter time for safety reasons and I couldn’t get close enough, but I am am going back in spring time.
Encouraging All guides to paste their street murals here and join the discussion.
We all love street art @TerryPG and these that you have shown from Midland Ontario Canada are amazing. I love the Trains Midland Street Mural and the reason might well be because of the visual effect that the artist created by not painting the building columns.
Your mural post actually inspired me to check out some murals in Superior, Arizona.
Amazing quality of photos you have posted. My favorite one is of the lighthouse and the sky painted on the wall. Love how the wall blends against the blue sunny sky in your photo.
Those are some Oh-so-amazing street murals I have ever seen in my life. Wow, would someday love to visit it in person. The intricate details and classic painting style makes it a must watch. Tagging my friends @Rohan10@TusharSuradkar@AjitThite@TravellerG
Just awesome murals @TerryPG !!! My favorite one is “Trains Midland Street Mural” the use of the columns here is really artistique and provided the required defth so it seems that the train coming out from first corner! Amazing art!
Your photos are excellent, as well. You really have an eye for shooting them!
I have to agree with @AdamGT as I also like how the artist left the brick columns unpainted. It makes for a very eye catching effect.
My personal favorite would be the horse mural. I really enjoy how the artist is opening a small window into the past and giving us a peek of history.
In the spirit of the train mural, I’ll share one I recently captured in Butler, Pennsylvania. It’s a mural commemorating the Pullman-Standard company, which was founded in Butler and famous for the Pullman sleeper railcars they manufactured.
Thank you @Mikeinthefalls , interesting fact I have slept in an overnight Pullman car going to Northern Ontario when I was in food sales many years ago.
Thankyou @DENIT33 I agree, and this smaller town loves them. I just couldn’t post the photos I had, they were not good, but I will return to Midland in the spring or summer time, and see what’s going on.
