Small Share, Big Help!

Have you ever tried to find an address and felt very frustrated with the confusion and lack of information about the address? or repeatedly strayed because of following inaccurate GPS recommendations? I have, and often it still is today.

In this modern era, all information can be accessed easily via the internet. Almost every area in urban and rural areas has largely been covered by communication and internet networks. all the convenience is more complete with the many mobile applications that provide search features or digital maps. Google Map is one of the main players in mapping software and GPS-based directions.

But sometimes all the sophistication of the technology becomes useless because there are still many misinformation and inaccurate instructions in the actual location.

Once I met a person who looked tired and confused trying to ask me about a location. The person told me that he had asked many times while following the instructions from the search engine but he did not find the location he was aiming for. Once I was told the address of the location the person was looking for, I was shocked because the location was just across the street! It is important that local communities be more actively involved in helping others by becoming local guides. with the amount of information obtained from these local guides, it will further minimize errors and possible accidents.

There was also a personal experience that I experienced when I was stranded in a dead end outside the city when I was left behind from my motorbike club group. I was so sure that the GPS instructions I followed were accurate, but it was the dead end that I encountered. But sometimes I like to challenge myself to try a new route proposed by Google Map, sometimes without knowing which route it is going through. ; p

Since then every time I travel to a place, no matter whether the place is already on the Google map or not, usually if conditions allow, I will share the location through Google. sometimes I just pass by or happen to be in a certain place like a government office, a hobby shop, an animal shop and other places that look ordinary and not too important, I will still share them. It seems a small and insignificant contribution, but it could be that this little thing would be of great use to others.

Let’s share, Cheers!
