Slow runing.

Can someone tell me why the Local Guides Connect app is opening so slow ? The app when is running is moving slow, I have to wait 1-2 sec for something from the menu to open.

There isn’t any standard app for connect. What you are referring is a progressive web app. That’s nothing but a customized browser page without a search bar.

To speedup you need following actions

  1. Clear browsing history & cache

  2. Check for any update for the browser.

  3. Ensure that there is sufficient storage space on your phone.

  4. Check whether too many apps are running in the background & stop the unused ones.

  5. Restart your phone.

  6. If there isn’t any improvement even after these steps, you need disabling the following temporarily & do troubleshooting these are a) AV programs b) Browser extensions c) Clean-up apps d) Ad blocker service e) VPN service etc.

Nevertheless, opting for the Google Domain Name servers do improve the performer to a great degree.

@C_T I made all the 5 points. But is the same. Thanks for telling me that this is a progressive web app. I didn’t know that. If I open Connect through the chrome than everything is working perfectly.

@BotaCristian you’re not the only one, it is a general complaint. You have to realize that the Connect platform is not developed by Google itself, but rahter using a 3rd party software. My experience is also that at moments where it takes milliseconds to open e.g. the Google Maps app, it takes several seconds to load Connect. Unfortunately there is nothing we as users of the platform can do about that.

@JanVanHaver Ok. Thanks. I thought is a problem with the app from my phone. I’m “glad” to know that this is a common problem.

Use a normal bookmark to access Connect - that is slightly faster. The initial login always takes a lot of time. But the subsequent pages are loading quite a bit faster.

Did you apply the troubleshooting that @C_T proposed? Are you still experiencing the same difficulty when trying to open Connect?

@Bobiisha Yes. But only in the progressive web app.

Connect is only available in a web version and the steps that @C_T suggested are most likely to help in case of delay when loading the page. This is why I will acccept his comment as a solution. I recommend that you go through this same instructions whenever the forum seems slow to you.
