Cold northerly wind, grey skies and beautiful smooth ice.
I take my ice hockey skates for a run and am freaked out by the ice creaking and groaning. I take the nearest point on shore and skate fast back and with a sigh of relief a short walk home.
Can you see any skaters in the distance?
It’s a great way to enjoy the outdoors and get some exercise at the same time. It’s also a great way to help reduce air pollution and conserve natural resources. I hope more people take up this activity and enjoy the beauty of Long Lake. @MikeDerry Thanks for sharing with us.

I think you are right, thanks for the correction. Usually, if there is enough snow on the ice the city or someone drives cross-country ski trails across the lake to complete the network here in Espoo.
