A couple of years ago I used to walk to a small restaurant that seemed very nice to me, until one day it disappeared; the business went bankrupt. I was very sad, so I started to wonder why this had happened, and I realized that it was because people did not even know that this small business existed.
It caused me a lot of frustration to know that:
All those people who decide to start a small business and dream of succeeding, eventually will not achieve it because people do not know of the existence of that place.
People who fight for a dream deserve to be recognized. We must not leave them in anonymity.
That’s why since I discovered that in Google Maps I can add new places to the map, I have decided not to leave any small business in anonymity: whenever I find a new one, what I like the most is to add it to the map. And you know what? It works. I recently added a small business called Esquites Rodo to the map. Before, no one searching for it on Maps would have found it; now one of the photos has more than 400 views.
Now I know, that this small business will not disappear.
That makes me very happy.
