If COVID19 has taught us anything it is how to take life and your own situation one moment one day at a time. Uncerrtainty will do that to you!
Today is IRONMAN day in Cairns. Up early to check my pick ups for travellers to the Great Barrier Reef and I left early to negotiate the road closures and detours to be on time. It can be a bit stressful.
Waiting for my passengers I stood near the beach at Holloways and watched the laziest waves ever flop onto the shore. Languid, gentle, careless waves sliding on the sand. Sand without footprints. It was as if the waves were summoned to sweep the beach of activity and revel in being alone on a beautiful morning.
It was hard to pull myself away from the scene.
Returning to the driveway the sun had just burst onto a gorgeous garden, lush and green with colourful flowers. The sprinklers were showering the plants and there in the middle is a tiny Sunbird taking full advantage of the gentle sprinkles to freshen his feathers. Sunbird was enjoying his bath and became a little ball of feathers, shaking them and preening them at the same time. One big fluff of his feathers and he was done.
I am going to delight in something very simple today and remember Sunbird when I do!
