Simple people sharing cold beer and wonderful moments.

I am suspect to write this post, simply because this is my favorite bar in Sao Paulo.

Visiting this place is always special, especially when you are in good company.
But if you’re not, that’s fine. This is because in addition to the owner treating you with the most intimacy and friendliness, the attendants also make a point of being friendly and serve you without that expression of being a “favor” for you.

It’s a simple place, but full of nice people willing to share what’s best as human beings.
Maybe that’s why it’s so hard to find a table there at peak times.

But I would be vague if I was summing it up to feel at home there.
There are other good reasons to have you have a beer there and I’ll try to summarize them briefly.
1 - The beer is always well chilled and is very cheap by local standards.
2 - The bar is full of tables on the street, and that’s one of the things I like most in a bar.
3 - You never have problems to crack the account, because the collection is always made at the time of the request, but you do not have to get up from the table to pay.
4 - The “salgados” are many good, large and just like the rest of the menu are very cheap. And only there you will find the famous “1-pound thong” and the “kibble” of successes.
5 - In a few days you will come across enthusiastic fans watching games, but in others it will come up against a band playing a samba root or some other music that will surprise you.

To conclude, I would like to say that I met the bar a few years ago, and since then visiting it has become part of my weekly routine, and although I enjoy visiting other places, this is my favorite (as I mentioned).
Maybe this has to do with the fact that I sincerely think that to feel at home in a city as big as São Paulo, you need to have a favorite “Buteco” full of normal people trying to be someone besides what says your work badge.

They are places like “Success’s Bar”, full of simple and unique things that make me feel proud to be able to share my experience and believe that often the simplest places are the ones with the greatest potential to surprise you.

And as the owner of “Success Bar” makes it a point to emphasize for me and all the customers he makes a point of greeting … “Here is Success!”
