Ingredients used in the preparation of Green Chilli Chicken:
Medium size fresh chicken cut in pieces
Chopped green chillies, Coriander leaves, Onion
Sliced Ginger and Garlic
Cooking Oil
Cumin seeds
Salt, Turmeric and Red chili powder
Garam masala powder
Fresh cream
Procedure:
- Green chillies along with sliced onions, ginger, garlic and coriander leaves are grinded together to form a paste. Salt and red chilli powder is added to the paste and is applied to the cleaned chicken pieces and is kept aside for atleast 30 minutes.
- In a separate frying pan, cooking oil is added and is kept at low flame. To the heated frying pan, cumin seeds are added along with the turmeric powder. The marinated chicken is now transferred to the frying pan and is mix well.
- Cumin powder and garam masala powder is added to the frying pan and is mix again steadily.
- A cup of water is added to the frying pan and cover the top of pan with the lid for atleast 10 minutes.
- Make sure that the flame is kept at low throughout the cooking process and cook till the chicken pieces become soft and tender.
- Mint leaves and cream are added as garnish to the Green Chilli Chicken and is recommended to serve this dish hot.
- We usually eat this delicious green chilli chicken with the Egyptian balady bread (easily available in the local bakeries and supermarkets in Saudi Arabia).
