Siliserh Lake, Rajasthan - Unbelievable Tourist Spot near Delhi

Siliserh Lake is one of my favorite place to visit. It’s so beautiful that you can’t explain. I have been here 3 times and everytime I visit I enjoy every time. I have been here during Spring, Summer and Monsoon season.

Entry ticket is Rs. 100/person with includes parking, one non-alcoholic drink like soft drink/bottle of water/tea/coffee. They have a small canteen with offers snacks and food at very reasonable price. The view from the Siliserh Palace is too awesome and you will feel very happy to be here. Yes they do have a lodging facility as well with prior booking. The Palace comes under Rajasthan Tourism Department.

Rainy season is the best time to be here. It’s has such a breathtaking view as its surrounded with low-rise lush green hills and you just can’t believe that you are in Rajasthan and that also too close to New Delhi. It’s around 160 Kms from New Delhi and can be reach here by road through NH 8 and from Bhiwadi take NH 25 till Alwar and from Alwar railway station its around 16 kms out of the town.

Here you can do enjoy the boat ride as well which costs around Rs. 800 for 6/8 people and Jet Skiing costs Rs. 600 for 5 minutes ride. They offer scuba diving as well but I have never used or never saw anyone doing that there. You will be very amuse to know that this lake has more than 100 crocodiles (Yes real crocodiles) which you can see lying on the sides of the lake enjoying the sun bath.

Nearest railway station is Alwar Station its around 16 kms from the lake and which is well connected from New Delhi & Jaipur. Remember to come here with our own vehicle else you may find it very difficult to go back to the City. It’s around 4-5 kms to reach the the main road (Alwar-Jaipur Road NH248A).

Palace is closed on Gazetted Holidays (For awesome view & boat ride you should come to Palace only), but the lake can be accessed 24 hours through different road.

If you come here don’t forget to go to waterfall which is around 10 kms from this place (Yes, you heard it right a waterfall is nearby), it’s a small fall but you may enjoy it.

How to make a memorable 2 day trip:
Make a plan leave from New Delhi early morning you will reach Alwar before 10 AM, visit alwar city eat milk cake the famous dish here. Then go to Bala Quila (I have never been there but always wanted to go there as its at the top of the hill), it’s 5 kms from the City. By lunch reach Siliserh Lake enjoy the view, take time to visit the waterfall and before 4 PM reach Sariska Tiger Reserve. (You can take your own car to a certain point of the Reserve. Enjoy the Wildlife and in evening after enjoying it stay at the famous Sariska Palace.

Next morning after having breakfast leave for Bhangarh Fort (The most haunted of India’s). It’s
also a very beautiful place but believed to be very haunted. After visiting that place if you want to extend your trip you may go to Jaipur or leave for New Delhi via NH8 through Virat Nagar.
