Sightseeing of Helsinki Cathedral and its surroundings in Finland

Travel has never been just travel, but real outdoor learning, and so-called traveling is better than reading thousands of books that I have been pursuing.

Helsinki, Finland, one of the most famous landmarks is commonly known as the white church Helsinki Cathedral, with towering green dome, elegant appearance and delicate inside. The church is marvelous.

The senate square downtown, Helsinki Cathedral architecture major is the famous white churches. The cathedral was built in the 1830s, belongs to the neoclassicism style with a big green dome over and surrounded by four small domes which are modeled on Santa’s cathedral of St.Petersburg above has 12 saints statues. In addition to daily worship, Helsinki cathedral seminary and Helsinki university auditorium, also have special activities such as weddings.

By the German architect Carl Ludvig Engel, completed in 1852, the green dome white walls, surrounded by the Corinthian columns, twelve apostles like on the roof, for an elegant neoclassical church, is one of the landmarks of Helsinki.

To visit the church, first through the Helsinki senate square, rectangular square central state is the statue of the Russian emperor Alexander II, all at the bottom of the statue on behalf of peace, science, art, and justice; And the terminal direction Sofiankatu road has a Cafe Engel, is good place to enjoy food, while enjoying the nice view.

Originally, Finland before independence in 1917, more than one hundred years was ruled by Moscow.

To the east is the Cabinet Building (Executive Yuan) and to the west is the University of Helsinki, with almost identical facades on both sides.

I was melting in both wonderful weather and cozy atmosphere and I want to visit Helsinki again after the pandemic.

But, when will it be?
