Privately owned Sialkot International Airport is situated 14 km west of Sialkot in the Sialkot District of Pakistan. Sialkot International Airport has the distinction of being the first privately owned public airport in Pakistan. Before the completion of the new green field Islamabad International Airport, it also had the longest runway in Pakistan. Airport has 3600 meter long, 45 meter wide with 7.5 meter wide shoulders on either side corresponding to International Civil Aviation Organization Category 4E.
Sialkot is internationally famous for producing and exporting Sports Goods, Surgical instruments, Motor Bike Suits, Gloves, Sportswear and Leather Garments. The airport is being upgraded to make it compatible to carry the load of ten Boeing 747s or A340s.
