Shymkent - the cultural capital of the Commonwealth of 2020

I live in Shymkent, it is in the South of Kazakhstan. In 2020, our city will celebrate its 2200th anniversary. This contributes to the preservation of peace and friendship, the interaction between people.

Residents of our city really love holidays! It doesn’t mean whether they are traditional or modern. Our toi is a big event, on which five hundred to a thousand people gather to share happiness with relatives and friends!

Southern people are very hospitable. Perhaps this is a feature of our mentality: we are all, regardless of nationality or religious affiliation, really like to receive guests. You can visit someone for tea at any time, and you will be accepted as the dearest guest.

Since childhood, we all have been instilled with respect for elders and care for the younger ones. Perhaps this is the most valuable thing in our traditions. A variety of people live in Shymkent. Shymkent is growing, and, therefore, the direction of human development is also expanding.

Now we can find anyone you want - from artists to businessmen, who, by the way, are always professionals in their field. Shymkent is growing and developing, but our traditions are never forgotten. This is called our special southern mentality. Therefore, we always have conservatism and modernity will move in the same direction.

If you come to Shymkent in April you can see tulips everywhere. It is the symbol of Shymkent. Welcome to Shymkent!
