Shri Prannath Ji Khejra Mandir, Panna, Madhya Pradesh, India

Mahamati Prannathji Temple in Panna is a famous pilgrimage center of Pranami sect. Pranami sect is a Hindu sect that worships Lord Krishna as the Supreme God. They are mainly found in India, with followers in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Nepal. Devchandraji Maharaj is considered the founder of the sect, Mahamati Prannathji further strengthened its foundation. They believe in one God and consider him formless, so do not worship idols. Their holy book is Tartam Sagar.

The temple was built in 1692 AD. Its architecture is based on a very attractive Indo Islamic style. In the temple premises, I was told that the temple has six parts and the main one is nine domes. The central dome has a paw symbolizing the 5 powers of Mahamati on a golden urn. The entrance is covered with an attractive arch and attractive silver leaf.

The peaceful atmosphere of this temple is excellent for devotion to God. There is a huge crowd of devotees on Sharad Purnima. It’s a very attractive temple which is visited by devotees and tourists.
