This weekend marked the first time in 2 years I had gone to shokunin and I was utterly speechless. I travel to Japan about once every 2 years and to me Japanese food is perfection. It has such rich history and it helps that it also speaks to my inner OCD. It worked out that we were there the night that Chef Darren had brought over the chefs from Netflix’s Final Table and the experience and food we had that night knocked me off my feet My fiance and I couldn’t help but just smile as we tried our way through one side of the menu. Eating here re-kindled my passion for food and made me realize that if I could have started all over again I would have been a chef. Chef Darren was super friendly and I feel that he is taking Calgary to the culinary world stage.
