Shimoni-Kisite mpunguti national park

Shimoni is a small town located on the beach shores of the Indian Ocean…Along the Likoni-Ferry Highway Road in the South Coast Region of Kenya.

It has a serene Environment fully filled with ancient historical information majorly the SLAVE TRADE in Africa.Its harbours were the main platform where African slaves would be shipped from Kenya to Zanzibar and then to the rest of the World.Restaurants in Shimoni provide Sumptous Swahili foods and mouth watering sea delicacies.The Famous Shimoni Caves were as a result of the earth’s natural geographic movements and a bit of man made efforts to pave way for pathways(mainly to transport slaves).Ancient Africans used the caves mainly for spiritual Cleansening.However the ancient Shimoni is also equipped with a modern jetty built by the Kenya Wildlife Services for efficient commuting services.Across the Sea,after a boat ride of nearly 5 minutes east…WASINI ISLAND is located .In addition to,the KISITE ISLAND is also located on the west of Wasini…Such two Great ISLANDS to hibernate for a Holiday :wink:
