The first time an encounter with google maps got me was when I searched online and saw my mum’s business on the map. She definitely did not put it there, but it was great to see her business location on google maps.
Here I am years down the line, a google local guide. What motivates me?
Google Maps we can agree is very integral to navigating the local environment for so many people and in my personal experience gleaning from other people’s reviews, I believe that the contributions I make help someone to easier navigate and discover.
When it comes to discovery, my posts enables people to better understand a place I have explored and what they might expect. There is also the assurance you get from seeing another human being’s review of something you want to undertake.
