Sharing is caring!

Whats not to love?

Sharing is caring. This is a term of endearment used by many South Africans. We believe that in sharing what you have- be it knowledge, wealth, food, memories or your opinion shows that you are care!

The things I like sharing the most on Local Guides are travel and food! FOOD IS LIFE! I enjoy exploring different parts of my country and more recently the world, and sharing my experiences through pictures and videos content. It is such a thrill getting to show the world what you experience in real time and helping them to make the decision to experience it for themselves.

Food and travel are two of my biggest passions and are therefore the two things I share the most about. From trying little side road stalls to fine dining on one of the breathtakingly beautiful South African Wine Farms.

From wine on the top of Constantia Hills, to a quick pad-thai on the side of the road in Bangkok. From a five star dining experience in Phuket to a quick drink and chisinyama (braaied meat) in Khayelitsha.

From Koeksusters and curry in Bo-Kaap to Monster dessert shakes in Cape Town Central.

Food to me is a way to connect with cultures and traditions and to explore the world via taste.

With food- what is not to love?

So join me as I taste my way around the world!

Lovely pictures @JureneOakes

I didn’t know there is a Phuket restaurant in South Africa.

Hi!

We have many Asian inspired restaurants here in South Africa.

We have food from all around the world. The picture from this post was taken while I was in Thailand though.

Hi @JureneOakes and welcome to Connect

Thank you for sharing your first post! All the food looks so tempting!

Since you’re new to the community, you might want to share a bit more about yourself and get to know others in our monthly Introduce Yourself - June 2019. You can also take a look at these 14 helpful tips for using Connect, and What are Connect topics?

I’m going to move your post to the Local Stories section on Connect where the Local Guides from all around the world share their local stories and inspiration why they like to be Local Guides and how they contribute to Google Maps. I will also add a Food&Drink tag.
