In response to Tell us what you love sharing most on Google Maps and why. Whether you’re passionate about finding the world’s best French fries or making the map more eco-friendly, we want to know about it!
I would have to say the BEST part for me being on google maps was when i helped a lady in Cambodia put her Silk Crafts shop on the map. We could barely communicate to each other due to the language barrier but I was in LOVE with her shop and its amazing aura that i had to share it with the rest of the world by adding her to the map. I started to try and explain to her what i was doing and when she realised she got so excited - she handed me a very old business card with all the addresses and information written in english on the back. I could not have been happier to be the one to help share this woman’s amazing art. Her shop was old but like hidden treasure it glowed among the other shops in the area. At the front of the shop an array of wallets and purses as well as little souvenirs for home (wine cosies and many more creative western inspired products) for prices so cheap you will want to take alot of cash. Then she allows you to walk through her fair trade workshop which is just behind the front counter - there you can see the woman happily working away in good conditions. So going back to the main point before i get lost in describing the beauty i had seen in this shop… I love more then anything being able to share it - and hopefully being this very deserving shop many more customers to leave good reviews
