I think Local Guides is a great idea.
Every time I travel abroad, I’m using Google maps to plan my trip and decide where to go.
I share a lot of data in google maps, especially pictures. I uploaded more than 3000 pictures and got more than 4 million views!
There is a phrase – a picture worth a thousand words, and I think this is correct.
What I like to share especially, are pictures of dishes in restaurants and cafés I visited. I think it can help others to decide what to order in a restaurant and see if the type of the restaurant is what they are looking for. It is much better than looking at the menu and imagine how the dishes will look like.
Also, I like to add missing data or fix an incorrect data, like opening hours, link to the relevant website, etc. I already had some disappointments when I thought a specific place is open, based on the opening hours displayed in Google Maps, and in fact the place was closed, so I think it is very important to have an up-to-date information about places.
Local Guides and Google Maps are the main tool for me when planning a trip, and as I like to use it, I also like to share as much information as I can (about places in my city or other cities I visit around the world), to help others planning their trips.
I like to travel a lot (I visited around 50 countries, especially in Europe), and Local Guides community and contributors make my trips better!
I will be glad to participate in the 2019 summit, to meet local guides from all over the world, share ideas and travel tips and have fun ?
