I always use google maps for looking for information of places I want to go. It’s really helpfull. I can know what time the shop I want to go shopping open. I can see the best way to go there. But, I had ever found wrong information about close time of post office in google maps. I went there when the post office was closed. Because of that, I want to help google maps for updating and fixing information in order not to upset people like me in that situation. After that I looked for information board and took a picture of hours of operation and uploaded to google maps and fixed the information details. That was my first time to I got my spirit to contribute actively as a Local Guide.
On the other hand, Local Guide also gives me impact to hone my hobby, photography. I am not a professional photographer, so my photos are not really good, but I always try to get a clear picture so that it can give clear information about what I want show with the photo. I want to share how appetizing courses I eat in restaurants. I always try to capture a beautiful plating when a course served. But, one important thing as a local guide is honest review. So, with picture I shared I can show how much or big a course in reality. Because many advertisement with pictures of courses that different from the reality. So, reviews with photos in google maps are important to know how real size, taste, or condition than only seeing pictures from advertisement.
It also happens in other places, like tourism spot. We can see many beautiful pictures of tourism spots in social media, but we can see the real condition in google maps, the advantage and the disadvantage. I like to take pictures.
