Sawas dee krub, This is Thai traditional greeting. It means “May goodness to be with you”.
I live in Hat Yai, Thailand with about 160,000 population similar to the city of Sunnyvale in California.
Almost every day, I commute 15 miles round trip to work, then on the weekend and holiday, I ride for long distance 60 miles or more to explore the greater area using Google Maps.
Using the bicycle, it is not too fast to see many spots, many good views, and many local stores.
Many of them were local food stalls that I love to explore and share the photos of them on Google Maps.
I am very excited to see a lot of people view those photos that I posted. On one of my top view photo, it will be 4.4 million views soon.
On Google Maps, I have learned about many many places that I have never been before from lots of efforts from other Local Guides around the world to contribute more invaluable information on the Maps.
On the Maps, I also created a lot of new places I found. I made the correction of the information of the place I have been. I answered those questions about the place that I have visited or created. I commented for the others will know more about the place.
With the announcement of Connect Live 2019, I have a chance to remotely join the
Meet-Up-in-Bangkok-30Mar2019 using meet.google.com on March 30th, 2018 with her kindness of Khun @SIRISKY via her smartphone on the tabletop in the photo below.
And on the next day, I have hosted a local meet-up in Hat Yai.
Local Guides Meeting in Hat Yai, Thailand on March 31st, 2019
I met many Local Guides who also have their passion to put more update to the Maps and even seriously walked from door to door of the local store in Hat Yai to introduce each individual business owner to know about the Maps and help those owners to place on the Maps. This is the very good start for sharing the Maps to the community and this will be expanded more and more.
When combined all above together, it is the magical power of Local Guide and I am proud to be a Local Guide.
I look forward to the new future feature that Maps not only have photos but also has a smell, so it will be more realistic to share the food experience through the nose beyond the eyes.
Thank you very much Google Maps Googler Team for your invention. Keep on the good works.
Look forward to meeting International Local Guide and Googler Team in the Connect Live 2019. ?
