I love sharing information about the sea, the beach and the people who live around it. They have many interesting stories about their coastal life.
In Indonesia, most coastal areas are underdeveloped one. Whereas the beautiful and underdeveloped regions are often considered to be an exotic paradise by tourists.
The problem is, those paradise seeker will come to a beach, and think that they can do whatever they want. By paying a fairly cheap retribution fee (because of the minimum facilities support), and thingking as a higher position as educated and more modern urban communities, they often forget other supporting factor of the coastal area it self. It is the people living around it . In fact, coastal communities in that area depend their lives on a sustain coastal ecosystems.
The humanist story about coastal communities like this, that I want to share widerly. So that in the future, tourists who come to the beach, can be more aware of the environment, by reading the info that i share from Google Maps / Local Guides. Of course it will also be a special attraction for tourists, if they can get to know more about the coastal communities life.
By the way, I realized that i love this topic, right after I completed my undergraduate research, about the sociology of coastal communities that usually marginalized. I hope that through this Local Guides channel I can spread more positive messages that I have received from the college, about Marine and Fisheries Sociology
