Sharing a Group List with others

Hi Everyone,

So I have a group list where me and my friend can add places, however we cannot share that list with others for viewing only.

If I create a public list, it can be shared but I cannot invite my friend to edit and add to that list.

I want to creat a list where two people can edit and add, while others can view only, without inviting them to edit.

I hope you get my question.

It would be great if we can creat a list with sharing options, as view only, and also edit access to some, like we do with all google docs.

Hi @SufyanHabib right now you can have

  1. private list
  2. list shared with public
  3. list shared with people to edit - if you share this widely then it is anyone

There’s no in-between 2 and 3 at this time where a select group can edit and anyone else can view. You could use Google MyMap this way as it obeys the Google Drive permissions which would allow what you want.

I’d suggest dropping your idea into Idea Exchange - search first and make sure someone else hasn’t already suggested it.
