We only have space for 36 people so please RSVP so that we can save a seat for you.
Just trying to learn how to get the word out to all the Toronto area Local Guides on Share to Care meet-up on Saturday, May 25 from 12 Noon to 2PM at 99 Sheppard Ave., WEST, Unit-A.We only have about 36 spots available. Limited free parking and about 120 strides away from Yonge-Sheppard subway.
Any suggestions to get the word out will be welcome.
This has to be a labour of LOVE to find the Google gems hidden in the 4th largest city in North America. Are we panhandling for gold or digging for diamonds? What are we seeking? You!
How many Google local guides are there in the Toronto area?
Can we find 36 that will come out on Saturday May 25 from 12 Noon to 2 PM to meet the other 35 gems?
We are offering free smiles, hugs and friendship along with stories, photos, ideas and experiences.
Look forward to meeting the LG gems. The next LG gems meet up might be on a battleship.
I would like to also remind you that over-tagging other Local Guides on Connect is considered harassment and it is a direct violation of the Local Guides program rules.
Thanks for the note. Was not aware that this would be an issue. As you know i am trying to reach out to the Google local guides in the Toronto to let them know about the Share to Care meetup, i was surprized to find that a lot of the LG were asking for meetups and disappointed with the ones that did not materialize.
So from what i can surmise there was a great need to help the Toronto area with letting them know that i was organizing a opportunity for LGs to meet.
I had two LGs wondering if word is getting out. I in turn am wondering how do i know how many people are coming. There is not RSVP. I am also wondering if Google can actually help the GTA LG to meet to share and care on May 25th.
If you or Google feel that I am harassing the Local Guides by telling them about the meetup I will certainly cease and desist
If there is another way to reach out and connect with the local guides i would certainly welcome any support from Google.
Also i must confess i’m not familiar with who in Google is supporting the local Toronto guides and how i can learn to do better in connecting with Toronto local guides and supporting the Mapping community while i learn to be better myself in this area of expertise.
JUST A REMINDER FOR THE TORONTO LOCAL GUIDE MEETUP - tomorrow Saturday at 12 Noon to 2PM at 99 Sheppard Ave, WEST - the event is West NOT East. Please use RSVP on the bottom left corner to let me know is you are coming.
It was nice to meet some local Toronto Google guides on our founding Share to Care event. The meeting was called to order by Erwin and a list of why and what the group would like to see going forward. The list is not in priority but is outlined to the LG team to use as a road map in building a more synergistic effort to help each other to be more proficient in our photography, comments, reviews through training and local support.
More hands on training - mapping, photography, store reviews, standards
More regular meetings to build camaraderie and support
Better announcements of in specific events around - walks, photo shoots, mapping
Organize local historical places of interest and some interesting backgrounds that would appeal to local people as well as out of town tourist?
What are the standards for photos to be submitted?
Is it better to take very brief videos - 10 to 15 seconds than just photos?
What about 360 shots, VR and AR Mapping requirements? Is it something Google would wish to add?
How do we reach more guides to participate in the Share to Care or Care to Share?
Schedule a meeting on a monthly bases so that people can plan to attend
Light and tasty refreshments were served by Sunhan and coffee by Erwin
