Share photos of your Local/Native dish challenge.

Hello dear foodies and Local gudies at large,

I am in a relax mood here and I better show it on connect. @JordanSB has launched The-Best-Meal-You-ve-Had-Recently-A-Challenge. I have participated and feel free to do so as well.

Now my own idea isn’t the best meal,it’s just to show.and exhibit our l

Local /Native dishes. Needless to introduce myself I am from West Africa and Nigeria in particular. Therefore as kids we love rice,but it isn’t a native/Local dish. We loved pizzas as well but it’s not prepared local at home. You’ll need the luxury of a fast food restaurant to have that. Now what? We grow and cook plantain in Nigeria. We have yam,we have cassava etc. That brings us to the main point then. The local dishes that are grown prepared and widely served in your particular geographical region. I know in Ireland for instance potatoes are grown and served at large. The first dish above is called Eba and Egusi soup . Eba is made from cassava meal(garri flour) it’s very very easy and simple to make. Egusi is made from melon seed and green vegetable leaves red oil local spices fish meat etc. I wrote a post on **My-Love-For-Egusi-Soup. **It might interest you seeing you are participating here and West-African-dishes-virtual-taste-meetup.

The second dish is called Amala and Ewedu with Gbegiri. Tomatoes sauce,ewedu and Gbegiri. It’s 3 local sauces combined together into what is called in our native tongue Abula. Amala is made from Yam flour prepard in hot water(Same as Eba) All these ingredients are sourced for locally and relatively cheap to get around.

  1. It’s so delicious and tasty
  2. It’s healthy
  3. It digests very fast
  4. It’s cost friendly as mentioned before etc.
  5. Both dishes are best eaten with your fingers well washed of course

These dishes I shared here on my post are photos of dishes I have had very recently. I also shared them on Google maps,so don’t be surprised to see them on my profile. There are dishes are quite popular in the west of Nigeria among the yoruba tribe. They are also dishes that are local prepared at home and relatively cheap to get at our local restaurants here in the country.

Now it’s your turn to share. I know the Indian and Asian local guides in general will respond well enough,they have varieties of dishes to share. Maybe some from American as well. More diishes from west Africa from my folks will be welcome too. South America oh yes and so on. Please share very good and enticing photo of local dishes and good details as much as possible. Please note that these photos are personally taken by me before crunching the meals. Lol. We value originality here on connect. Therefore please make sure the photos are personally yours or your have the right to share it. Looking forward to a very tasty experience here on connect.

Happy feasting

Cheers

@SholaIB que gran iniciativa!

Un plato tradicional en Argentina es el asado y las empanadas también las papas fritas.

Siempre acompañado con un buen vino o una cerveza.
