I used to live in Shanghai for 4 years. It’s one of the biggest city in the world.
It’s the economic, finance, trade, art and shipping hub of China.
It has 17million residents and 5 million mobile population.
It’s the greatest city in China to shop and to dine.
During our week-long visit, we stayed in an old townhouse in the midtown. We visited some friends and families. We tried different restaurants and eateries.
POIs are The Bund, Lujiazui Financial District (Oriental Pearl Tower and IFC), Nanjing Road, JIngan Temple, Xujiahui, Tianzifang and Xintiandi.
Hi @BorrisS , so glad you like my photos and you asked thought-provoking questions.
I call myself 3/4 pro photographer, a little bit better than semi-pro:)
I use Canon 5D II and 24-105 F4 lens for travel.
I want my images to be visually interesting. Try to find new things rather than cliche. I like to observe people thru my lens. Capture a decisive moment is always my goal.
Shanghai to China is like NY to the States. It’s always the photographer’s favourite for cityscape, architecture and street photography etc.
It’s great to know that you used to live in Shanghai for four years. Did you enjoy live there? Where did you live in Shanghai? And what was your favorite food?
Here I would like to share with you my photograph of The Bund. I really enjoyed looking the view from The Bund in the afternoon while taking a breath with the fresh air.
I lived in various suburbs/district: Changning, Pudong and Luojing. My favourite Shanghai food is Sheng Jian Man Tou (Fried pork bun). So tasty and so juicy.
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G, @OliverKIWI ! It is great to learn that you spent whole 4 years in Shanghai! One can say that you are like a local now. I have been there for 3-4 days only back in 2015.
Just as you, my favorite dish from Shanghai is exactly the 生煎馒头 (sheng jian mantou). I remember I couldn’t stop eating this type of dumplings as they are so juicy and savory. I even prefer them more than sweets.
Here is a photo of mine that I have of this delicacy.
OMG! I love 宽面条 too -yes, Biangbiang Mian, there is Xian food bar here with authentic noodle and my other favourite Rou Jia Mo!! I add a lot of chilli oil. Mmm! So satisfying!!
I am now living in New Zealand - for over 20 years. My parents and brother are still in Shenzhen. I am from Wuhan initially. yes, Wuhan! I visited Wuhan last July. Seemed all good, now everything has been changed. The pandemic has taken such a toll on the world. I was devastated and shattered. Thank you! @TsekoV
