Dear Moderators,
India is surely a multilingual country – but all are efficient in Hindi. In India too, English is the common language and English plays a major role in the online search engine.
At least for me, some of the features which were in English till recently, is coming in Hindi – this makes Maps Unusable for us.
In particular, I found Hindi to be in two places
- Services (Google map)
- GMB
GMB finally displays the address in Hindi when you make a claim. Because of this, those of us who are non-Hindi speaking, are unable to ensure the correctness of the address. Even, it will be very difficult for the postmen to deliver the mail to the correct addressee (most of them, do not know to read or write Hindi).
Also the display of ‘Services’ in Hindi is rendering the information invalid to non-Hindi speakers and hence we will not be able to understand what the POI serves.
Google maps so far has been very helpful to tourists. Such a change would make the maps unusable for non-Hindi speakers.
My request is to continue Google maps in English

Yes, @RtnArulPrakasamT
It is very true; hope Google will give IMMEDIATE Attention to this point.
For me, it looks like a BUG.
Thanks for the research findings and idea sharing dear @RtnArulPrakasamT . Indeed India unity in diversity. We commenly use our local language, English then Hindi. If not at least in Tamilnadu and some other parts of South India. Even I can speak Hindi but not able to read or write.
This will be a big issue in understand the language. So please take it serious and do the needful at the earliest.
Thanks
John Peter
Yes, really agree with the topic there are many people in several parts of India who still don’t know how to read or write in Hindi even many Hindi speaking people also can barely read and write in Hindi. Hope! Google Team notice this issue and fix it in timely manner.
Ich hoffe, daß man Eure Bitten erhöhrt.
Viele Grüße nach Indien

English is the Ideal connecting Language whether it’s on Global Or National Level. We are strongly supporting for English only.
