Server timeout on very long lists of most viewed photos

Hi all

Earlier today I mentioned this problem in another thread and promised to create a proper bug report. This is it.

This report is very similar to another unsolved problem described here: My list of edits is gone!

I guess that it is the same issue causing both of these issues.

Description

When you visit an open profile on Google Maps and request to see the list of most viewed photos nothing shows up if more than 35.000 (approximately) photos were uploaded to that profile.

Here are 4 examples from public profiles::

https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/115102307186632409206/photos/ 47.000 pics

https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/114118451392288609524/photos/ 320.000 pics

https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/114118451392288609524/photos/ 311.000 pics

https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/103860424887223121539/photos/ 113.000 pics

Photos will load when sorted by default = Date/Newest, but when you request the list sorted by views the servers seem to not deliver the data in time and you get the standard error message we normally get on private profiles and profiles not yet having uploaded any photos.

Looking forward to learning if others have experienced this problem also, and what the Google Moderators plan to do about it.

Cheers

Morten

I’m also unable to see individual photo view counts in my profile @MortenCopenhagen

Hi @NareshDarji

With less than 10.000 photos your problem is likely not the same as what I described. Have you tried looking for your individual pic view counts on an Android device? There you should be able to find them. Finding them on Desktop will hopefully reach your region soon.

And I can’t check since your profile on Google Maps is set to private.

Cheers

Morten
