Whenever I submit an edit to the “Located within” field of a place, I get the message “Server error. Please try again later.” I’ve been having this issue consistently for the past several months, maybe over a year, but never bothered to ask about it today.
I’ve reproduced this consistently across several locations to edit, Wi-Fi and cellular networks, physical locations, and across my phone and desktop. I found a similar post from a few months ago that suggested it’s a connectivity issue, but with how consistently I’ve reproduced this issue across so many different network conditions without encountering it for any other kind of edit, I don’t think that applies in this case.
Please, try Clear cache & cookies, if you have not already done so. The link has step-by-step instructions for Android, IOS, and Desktop. Just select the relevant tab at the top.
Also, please log out of your Local Guides account and log back in, and update your Google Maps app if necessary.
And if you can test on a computer also to see if the error follows you or is isolated to your phone.
Thanks for the reply. I tried again on my desktop and saw no change from the last time after clearing cache & cookies, and also saw no progress after clearing cache/cookies on my phone and reinstalling Maps. Maybe it’s server-side?
