People have a sweet tooth, I feel I have several of them. Hi my name is Anukriti and I am a Local Guide from India.Living away from my family since high school, I’ve lived by myself for almost 12 years. I have always been a sugar addict and a sucker for bakery goods.
While being on my own, I’ve shared my room or flat with various other girls over time. We girls tend to use ice creams and chocolates to satisfy our emotional needs, be it break up with a boyfriend or our own hormones playing with our mind.
Being in the Capital for so long, I became a personal guide for all my new roommates from different cities, and even countries when it came to recommending good restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries
.
Recently (a year and a half back), I got married to a man who is a bigger foodie than I am, leading to multifold increase in my food adventures and body weight (sigh!!)
This is when I actually became a Local Guide on Google. I started it because I felt the need of it. Sometimes, after a good morning workout (you know what I mean ? ), when me and my husband would be craving for pancakes or waffles, and find it mentioned nowhere that what time our favourite waffle place opens, I realised somebody’s got to fill these blanks. I started filling those details and then started getting prompts from Google to review and rate places.
Even before becoming a Google Local Guide, clicking pictures of all desserts and sweets which I would eat, was almost a habit. Once I started posting pictures, I had so much to post from my previous photo gallery also.
I have even made a Google list by the name of “Sweet Toothers” (https://maps.app.goo.gl/jWsz1rPVRM4NqwMa8) to satisfy sweet cravings when in Connaught Place, Delhi. It is not only central most but also one of the most popular locations in Delhi and has innumerable eateries there. (Fortunately/ unfortunately I work there, God save me!!)
So here’s my little story about how I became a Local Guide and why I am so partial towards posting about all things sweet. As they say, “You are what you eat”, so I say let’s eat all things sweet ?
Ooooh…one more thing… my husband is a Europe Lover and we’re going there on our third trip together in coming May (and his 8th!!).
During my previous trips, I have posted reviews and pictures of beautiful places and delectable eateries. I still remember the last dessert I had in Paris in a boulangerie opposite Notre Dame on a rainy evening…
Looking forward to posting some amazing stuff from our upcoming trip to Netherlands, France and Switzerland. Any recommendations for good bakeries (or things you couldn’t forget about) in these places are welcome in comments. ?
