Seinfeld, Suzzane Vega and the born of MP3

This restaurant at the corner of Broadway and W-112 Street in Upper Manhattan is full of pop references. It was the coffee shop where Jerry, Kramer and George used to spend time, it’s also the restaurant which inspired Suzzane Vega to write “Tom’s Diner” in 1981, which, in turn was the song used by Karlheinz Brandenburg to perfect the MP3 format.

If you happen to visit NYC and are a pop fan, you should pay a visit. Columbia University is at walking distance, as well as the Cathedral Church mentioned in the song “…as I’m listening to the bells of the Cathedral…”

Enjoy!
