Hi,
How can I search for locations without photographs?
I’m a photography hobbyist, and would like to add photos to locations that are missing them.
Edit: I’m using Google Maps on the iPhone Xs Max.
Thanks,

Hello @65WZ
Hello
That’s easy to find.
Open the contribute tab.
Then click contribute more.
Next, scroll down to “More ways to share”
Here you will find a tab “Uncover missing info”. Click on that.
There are various filters here. The first row is for different types of POIs (Points of interests) & the second row is for the kind of missing information. Here in this row, you will find a “Photo” tab. Click on that & then it will reveal all the nearby places which do not have photos.
Visit the place & go on clicking!
The steps remain unchanged in the old as well as new user interface. However, in the new one, you will find the contribute symbol at the bottom, whereas in the old one, that’s through the Hamburger menu.
To help you further, here is a screen shot of the map showing locations sans photographs. All the places with (+) need a photo upload.
However, you can’t have these type of filters on an iPhone.
Still, the easiest way would be to get hold of an Android phone, log on into Maps, discover all the places with missing photos and save these in a list. You can do that by clicking the three dots appearing next to the spot, go to the “view place details” & then click the “save” symbol.
Later on, you can use that list upload the photos through iPhone.
Thank you for the kind reply, C_T
I forgot to mention that I’m using the iPhone, and Google Maps does not have the mentioned filters, unfortunately.
Regret you do not have the necessary filter on an iPhone @65WZ

There are many photos that doesn’t work out with the preferred location thereby giving out wrong information about a particular location. Always know the place you are going to so that you won’t be misled by wrong photo
