Searching for good Vibes in Chicago and beyond

Sipping delicious matcha at the historic Kayaba Coffee since 1938 I had to thank google maps for helping me find it and guide me there (literally walking route from the hotel!). I became obsessed with Google Maps in 2015 upon moving back, after a decade away, to my hometown of Chicago. Maps became my best friend and trusted ally for navigating public transit, learning to optimize such a walk-able city, and navigating the food scene.

Chicago is a foodie paradise where you can go out to eat somewhere different every night and never run out of options - the choices can be overwhelming. These days the value of an experience is ever present and we as humans crave unique moments among the chaos.

My favorite experiences are wining and dining with friends, family or alone, which is why I primarily review restaurants, coffee shops, and bars. When researching for myself I look especially at the atmosphere - is it a hole in the wall with 8 bar stools or full of luxurious booths, is there a bar where I might feel more comfortable than a table for two across an empty chair. I love places of all shapes and size, what is crucial is to have clear expectations going in. Since these are the factors that lead to my decision making it is what I strive to provide for others. We are creatures of comfort and visualizing where we will be sitting while sipping on a delicious matcha helps mentally prepare for the experience.

While my favorite city to review is my home town of Chicago I take this passion everywhere I travel and strive to help others with the precious decision of where they will spend their time.
