This is a problem other Italian users have been experiencing in the last 24 hours: if they perform the same search in incognito mode or with other accounts, everything works. Clearing the app or browser cache, reinstalling the app, or restarting the PC or smartphone doesn’t help.
I’ll wait a while , as @davidhyno suggested, because I can not mention wich version I use o google maps or sw.
As mentioned I tested it on 3 different computers and 4 different browser (Apple Intel, Apple M2, Windows, Linux - Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox)
It works only on mobile phone.
If persist I’ll report to MoniDi as you suggested.
Thank you
Ciao Fabio, grazie della informazione. Non sapevo fosse un problema generico. Ma iniziavo a sospettarlo visto che non andava da NESSUN computer, browser, sistema operativo. Solo telefonino.
I’m so surprised that @MarcoDavoli reported a desktop problem and got two responses from users who tested on mobile and said there was no problem.
However, I’ve just tested on desktop, and all is well here. My test involved locations in three different countries, and I didn’t get the same error message.
asked my brother (who is living in another city) to try to search whatever he wants on google maps with his computer and he has my same problem. He also has a different internet provider. I have 1Gbit Fastweb he has 400Mb Vodafone
@davidhyno said that could be a real big tech-isp problem.
BTW, hey Davide did you have the same problem?
This mean for me that GOOGLE MAPS is simply USELESS
I can not search a place to reach, can not look for a restaurant where going to eat or a cinema or or or…
I’m pretty sure it’s crystal clear by now: as it stands, Google Maps is officially useless. What a wired (and wildly weird) experience!
Here I am, sitting comfortably at my desk, looking for the local ASST office I need to visit, and what do I have to do? I have to pick up my phone. Absolutely shocking.
As I wrote to Anthony and Davide, you can’t even search for a restaurant, a cinema, a bar, or… or… anything at all anymore.
BUT hey, at least I can still practice the wonderful, sacred art of being a ‘ROADER’!
