Seafood Kerala Lunch at Odhen's, Kerala

You probably have seen pictures of traditional South Indian lunch meals (know as Sadhya) served in a Banana leaf with a number of items. I will write a separate post on where I had my best Sadhya in a seperate post. This post is about aplace in Kannur, Kerala famously known as_Odhen’s.A picture of the interior of the restaurant before rush hour. PC @hadiag_

This place only serves lunch and the menu is restricted to just basic lunch meal. People come here to have the fried Seafood varieties along with the meal. There is usually a wait here during peak hours which makes people standing behind your chair waiting for you to finish your food. It is therefore best to reach here just before rush hour (right after 12:00 pm) when they start serving and also try reach before 02:00 pm as they would most probably run out of Seafood items. The seafood menu varies according to the season and availability. But the must tries are their Squid, King fish, Sardine fries. They also mostly have clams, prawns and few others too.

This place is easy to access and is less than 2 kilometers walking distance from the Kannur Railway Station. (or you can take a rikshaw)

We can find many of the Restaurants in Kerala, Lunch (rice) as in Banan leaf. That was awesome with lot of items, especially the “ONA SADHYA”

Hi @KARAKKAM , yes I am aware there are plenty of hotels in Kerala serving in Banana leaf as Kerala is my hometown. I was giving extra details being considerate of the huge Local Guides community who are not familiar with it! I will soon be sharing a post on a Sadhya (and 4 payasams) I had at Mother’s Veg Plaza in Trivandrum (the best I ever tried).
